2 nabbed in buy-bust; P1.87-M ‘shabu’ seized

Police arrested two alleged drug personalities and seized an estimated P1.87 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Bacolod City’s Barangay Tangub on Saturday night, January 17.

The arrested individuals were identified only by their aliases as 38-year-old “Jeffrey” and 39-year-old “Fernando,” both residents of Tangub.

The operation, conducted at 8:27 p.m. in Purok Crossing 8, Old Runway, was carried out by the Drug Enforcement Team from Police Station 8.

Confiscated from the suspects were approximately 275 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P1,870,000.

Police said the suspects were apprehended after a successful buy-bust transaction, during which they were found in possession of the illegal drugs.

The two will face charges for violation of Sections 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and 11 (possession of dangerous drugs), Article 2 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

They are currently detained and undergoing proper police procedures as authorities prepare the filing of charges in court./CJ, WDJ
