The Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts completed a dominant campaign against Calvary Baptist Academy in the Pontevedra Volleyball League held in Negros Occidental’s Pontevedra town over the weekend.

The Ian Macariola-mentored Thunderbolts team swept both the 15-and-under and 17-and-under championship matches against host Calvary.

The Thunderbolts asserted their depth and discipline in the title round, emerging victorious in the 15-U championship before repeating the feat in the 17-U division to secure a double crown in the tournament.

In the 15-U finals, Bacolod Tay Tung relied on a balanced lineup led by Czarina Aleksi Ang, Annicka Zoe Chua, Mari Antoinette Cacho, Ariane Mae Alayon, Sheree Frederiz Uy, Gail Ordaniel, Heart Abucion, Yeriel Zafina Montalbo, and Rheatyshia Khate Lim.

The Tay Tung 17-U team followed suit in the championship match, overpowering Calvary Baptist Academy to complete the sweep.

The roster featured Marishka Alexandria Andrada, Rayne Angela dela Cruz, Samantha Yssobel Cañete, Mary Regine Wongyan, Xadrej Zade Española, Nicole Getino, Jessica Jayne Soco, Chennie Mie Millama, and Rinoa Morgan Sonota.

The twin championships capped a successful showing for Bacolod Tay Tung High School in the league, highlighting the program’s strong grassroots development and consistent performance across age-group categories./ASC, WDJ
