The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) intensified its anti-illegal drugs campaign, arresting four suspected drug personalities in separate buy-bust operations from December 18 to 20, and confiscating nearly P1.9 million worth of suspected shabu.
Police said the largest seizure occurred at 5:44 p.m. on Friday, December 19, when operatives of the BCPO’s Drug Enforcement Unit arrested a high-value individual, a 42-year-old woman, at Barangay 10’s Purok Magtiayon.
Recovered from the suspect were approximately 230 grams of suspected shabu valued at about P1.56 million.
In another operation shortly after midnight on Saturday, December 20, personnel of Police Station 8’s Station Drug Enforcement Team apprehended a street-level individual, a 43-year-old male, from Negros Occidental’s Murcia town.
The suspect was arrested at Purok Hollow Blocks, Barangay Singcang Airport, where police seized around 15 grams of suspected shabu worth P102,000.
Earlier, on December 18, two residents of Barangay Tangub were also arrested during a buy-bust operation at Purok Barracuda, Barangay 1.
The suspects, a 39-year-old and a 29-year-old, were found in possession of an estimated 35 grams of suspected shabu valued at P238,000, along with several non-drug items.
All four suspects are now in police custody and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
