A man was injured in a stabbing incident following an altercation inside a bar along Calamba Street in Bacolod City’s Barangay 1 early yesterday morning.
Police identified the victim only as “Mike,” a call center agent and resident of Barangay Banago.
He sustained stab wounds to his lips and back after an argument reportedly escalated into violence at Lunar Art Cafe and Bar at 12:55 a.m.
His co-workers rushed him to Riverside Medical Center, where he received medical treatment.
The suspect, identified as “Rofel,” a resident of Barangay Villamonte, was immediately restrained by the establishment’s bouncer moments after the incident and later turned over to responding personnel of Police Station 2 of the Bacolod City Police Office.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim and the suspect were engaged in a heated verbal exchange inside the bar before the suspect allegedly pulled out a bladed weapon and stabbed the victim.
Authorities said the suspect remains in police custody as investigators prepare the filing of appropriate charges./CJ, WDJ
