A 14-year-old boy was found with multiple stab wounds after an early morning attack at Barangay 2 in Negros Occidental’s San Carlos City yesterday.

Police reported the minor was lying on the pavement with multiple stab wounds on different parts of his body along Laurel Street in Don Juan Subdivision.

An initial investigation indicated that the victim was asleep when he was allegedly mauled and stabbed by a 34-year-old male suspect, identified only by the alias “Raymund,” a resident of the same area.

The attack appeared to have been carried out without an apparent reason, police said.

After the stabbing, the suspect allegedly set himself and their house on fire.

Firefighters from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) San Carlos City later declared the fire out and discovered what was believed to be “Raymund’s” lifeless, burned body inside the house in a prone position.

Authorities requested the Scene of the Crime Operatives to process the crime scene, while the BFP will conduct a separate arson investigation.

The motive behind the stabbing remains under investigation./CJ, WDJ
