A 52-year-old man tragically lost his life after being struck by lightning at Barangay Anahaw in Negros Occidental’s Hinigaran town on Sunday, November 23.

Hinigaran police said the victim, a laborer and resident of Sitio Unob, was seated on his bamboo terrace around 2:00 p.m. when heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning occurred.

Investigations revealed that he was leaning on the mesh wire enclosing the terrace when he was electrocuted by a lightning strike, causing him to fall to the ground.

The victim was rushed to Hinigaran Medical Clinic but was pronounced dead on arrival./CJ, WDJ
