The Negros Occidental provincial government insists it is providing assistance to all affected communities after Typhoon “Tino,” despite criticisms circulating on social media.
Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said the Capitol is “not neglecting anyone” in its relief operations, responding to claims that some local government units (LGUs) had not received requested heavy equipment and support.
“During this crisis, there are people who somewhat play the blame game,” Diaz said.
He emphasized that the provincial government is actively engaged in clearing operations, relief distribution, medical services, and other forms of support to all LGUs, not just a select few.
Diaz also emphasized proper communication in seeking assistance.
“It’s not right to ask for help and then criticize in order to receive it,” he said.
“Requests for assistance should be made respectfully and in a proper manner,” he added.
He further highlighted that the provincial government has consistently delivered services amid multiple crises, citing previous responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, and now Typhoon “Tino.”
“Our commitment is to continue providing aid and support to all communities affected by disasters,” Diaz added, reaffirming the Capitol’s role in ensuring relief operations reach those in need./CJ, WDJ
