
The Blackwater Bossing kicked off its PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup campaign on a high note.
This, as the Bossing thwarted the Terrafirma Dyip, 107-87, on Friday, October 10, at the Ynares Center Montalban in Rizal.
Even without Sedrick Barefield, they got the win as Christian David and RK Ilagan combined for 46 points, leading the Blackwater firepower that sent them up 1-0, as the Dyip moved down to 0-1.
“Of course, we’re very happy that we’re able to get the job done today,” expressed coach Jeff Cariaso.
“Honestly, you want to always try to start on a good note, and today was a good first step.”
While they led by eight at halftime, 50-42, the Bossing continued their rampage in the third period, outscoring their rivals, 29-19, to enter the final frame with an 18-point cushion.
Rookie Dalph Panopio made a shining PBA debut with an overall showing of 13 points, six rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block, as Abu Tratter provided 12 points and eight rebounds.
For their part, Jerrick Ahanmisi had a 25-point, seven-rebound output to pace Dyip, while Paolo Hernandez had a 19-4-2 statline. (ABS-CBN News)
