The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) dealt a major blow to the illegal drug trade after confiscating more than P3.55 million worth of suspected shabu in a series of operations on Thursday, October 2, 2025.

Police records showed that at least four operations were conducted in different barangays within just a few hours, resulting in the arrest of multiple drug personalities, including two identified as high-value individuals (HVIs).

At 8:48 p.m. on Thursday, operatives from Police Station 2 arrested three suspects in a buy-bust operation at Barangay 1’s Purok Barracuda.

Confiscated from them were 250 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1.7 million.

The suspects, identified only as 21-year-old Mark, 22-year-old Reniel and 23-year-old Dave, are residents of the city.

Earlier that evening, at 7:29 p.m., Police Station 8 arrested 27-year-old alias Anthony, an HVI, in Barangay Singcang-Airport.

Seized from him were 170 grams of suspected shabu worth P1.15 million.

Just six minutes later, at 7:35 p.m., the City Drug Enforcement Unit collared another HVI, identified as 41-year-old alias Ullomodin, in Barangay 40.

Recovered during the operation were 100 grams of suspected shabu worth P680,000.

Meanwhile, at around 8:00 p.m., Police Station 6 reported a voluntary turnover of two grams of suspected shabu worth P14,000.

A 47-year-old individual, identified as Joean, claimed to have found the items along the street.

In total, authorities confiscated around 522 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of P3,550,000.

All seized evidence was turned over to the Bacolod Forensic Unit for examination.

The arrested suspects are now detained and face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

BCPO Director Police Colonel Joeresty Coronica commended the operating units and reaffirmed the police force’s commitment to its anti-drug campaign.

He also urged public support in the ongoing efforts to keep Bacolod City safe from illegal drugs./CJ, WDJ
