Cebu topples slumping Bacolod in MPBL

The Cebu Greats wrapped up their elimination round campaign on a high note, defeating the Bacolod Tubo Slashers, 80-71, in the 2025 MPBL Season at the Quezon City Gymnasium.

The Greats finished with an 11-18 record, keeping their hopes alive for a play-in berth.

They will secure a spot if Sarangani (10-18) loses its final game against Caloocan (18-8).

Limeul Tampos led Cebu with 13 points, eight rebounds and four assists.

Jun Manzo chipped in 12 points.

Paul Desiderio registered eight points and eight rebounds.

Mark Meneses hauled down 19 boards on top of four points and three assists.

The Slashers fell to 4-24 despite the efforts of Mark Ray Dubouzet, who had 13 points, eight rebounds and five assists.

John Lemuel Peralta added 11 points.

Miles Canal finished with 10 points and four rebounds.

Earlier, the Basilan Starhorse Portmasters clobbered the Marikina Shoemasters, 70-51, to stretch their winning streak to seven and climb to a share of fourth in the Southern Division with a 17-1 record.

Jimboy Pasturan paced Basilan with 20 points built on five triples, along with six assists and two steals.

Renzo Navarro added 14 points, seven assists and four rebounds.

Jervy Cruz contributed nine points and seven boards.

The Portmasters shot a blistering 48.4 percent from beyond the arc, converting 15 of 31 attempts.

Marikina could only manage seven treys.

The Shoemasters, now at 4-24, were led by Jay Yutuc with 12 points./ASC, WDJ
