The Adamson University Lady Falcons asserted their dominance over the Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles, completing a two-game sweep of their exhibition series in Western Visayas.
Adamson capped the twin bill with a straight-sets victory, 25-18, 29-27, 25-14, against Ateneo on Sunday, September 21, at Bacolod National High School.
Team captain Shaina Nitura spearheaded the attack as the Lady Falcons overwhelmed the Blue Eagles with a relentless offensive barrage that delighted the Bacolod crowd.
The win came on the heels of another triumph in Passi City the previous night, where Adamson outlasted Ateneo in four thrilling sets, 25-22, 25-27, 25-19, 25-23, before a packed City of Passi Arena.
Both squads fielded local standouts, adding regional pride to the weekend series.
Ateneo featured Negrense players Katherine Shaine Cortez, Jihan Chuatico, Alex Montoro, and Dona Mae de Leon, together with Ilongga setter Ana Hermosura.
Meanwhile, Adamson leaned on Nitura and Ilongga libero Athea Aposaga, under Negrense coach JP Yude.
With the Lady Falcons sweeping the Blue Eagles in both stops, Western Visayas fans were treated not only to a showcase of UAAP-level volleyball but also to a celebration of homegrown talent./ASC, WDJ
