The Biñan Tatak Gel Motorcycle Tires GameX overwhelmed the Bacolod City Tubo Slashers, 85-56, to boost their playoff bid in the 2025 MPBL Season at the Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan, Laguna.
Carlo Lastimosa led Biñan with 19 points, four rebounds and two assists as they climbed to 15-11, just behind the Basilan Starhorse Viva Portmasters in the Southern Division.
Kristan Hernandez added 17 points and six rebounds.
Jaymar Gimpayan chipped in 13 points and six boards, while Warren Bonifacio registered 12 points, 12 rebounds, three steals, and two assists.
Bacolod fell to 4-22, with only Mark Ray Dubouzet scoring consistently with 18 points.
Jaycee Sam Adjei added 13 in the lopsided defeat.
Meanwhile, the Viva Portmasters rallied from a 12-24 deficit to turn back the Muntinlupa Cagers, 92-80, and notch their sixth consecutive win.
The victory improved Basilan’s record to 16-11, good for sixth spot in the South.
Alex Cabagnot provided the spark with eight third-quarter points, including back-to-back triples that gave Basilan a 71-64 lead entering the final frame.
Arwind Santos anchored the Portmasters with 18 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
Cabagnot contributed 15 points, seven assists and three boards.
Gab Dagangon added 13 points and seven rebounds.
Emman Calo tallied 12 points and seven assists, while James Tempra nearly posted a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds.
Muntinlupa dropped to 10-16 after absorbing its 14th straight defeat despite strong performances from Patrick Ramos with 21 points, nine assists and seven rebounds, and Kurt Lojera with 20 points, nine rebounds, three steals, and two assists./ASC, WDJ
