A series of grim discoveries has unsettled Negros Occidental’s Talisay City after three lifeless bodies were found separately, prompting an intensified police investigation.
On Friday evening, August 29, two unidentified human bodies in an advanced state of decomposition were discovered in the parking area of the First Farmers Holding Corporation in Barangay Dos Hermanas.
The Talisay Component City Police Station said they received a report at 6:10 p.m. from a concerned citizen after children in the area stumbled upon the corpses in a vacant grassy portion of the parking lot.
A concerned citizen confirmed the sighting and immediately contacted the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to verify the discovery, as both victims were beyond recognition.
Authorities said one body was clad in a black shirt and denim shorts, while the other was wearing denim shorts without a shirt.
Scene of the Crime Operatives are working to identify the victims and determine the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
Meanwhile, in a separate case, another man was found lifeless in Talisay yesterday.
The victim was identified as 36-year-old Richard Marck Nance, a resident of Purok Ma-anyag in Barangay Matab-ang.
According to initial findings, Nance’s younger brother, 26-year-old Rani, found him unresponsive outside their house at 1:35 a.m., with traces of blood — suspected to be vomit — nearby.
The victim’s father, 54-year-old Pablito Nance, told authorities that his son had long been suffering from tuberculosis.
He added that the family does not suspect foul play, believing the cause of death to be natural illness.
Responding officers turned over the remains to the Talisay Health Office through a funeral home./CJ, WDJ
