The U19 Governor’s Cup Provincial Championship for boys is set to kick off on September 13, featuring players born between 2007 and 2009, in Negros Occidental’s Victorias City.

The opening ceremony will take place in Victorias and will coincide with the U17 Champions League Finals, creating a full-day showcase of youth football talent in the province.

The tournament will serve as a key qualifier for the Philippine Football Federation national finals.

The championship is part of a province-wide campaign spearheaded by the Negros Occidental Football Association, with elimination rounds to be held in multiple cities and municipalities.

The initiative aims to expand grassroots football participation and provide more opportunities for aspiring players.

Organizers expressed their gratitude to Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson for his continued support of the competition and to the Victorias City government, led by Mayor Jun Bantug, for hosting the tournament’s opening events./ASC, WDJ
