Negros Electric and Power Corporation (Negros Power) marked its first anniversary this August with a series of impactful activities that highlighted its commitment to service, sustainability, and community development, all aligned with its flagship campaign: “Ikaw Ang Una.”

The festivities began with a Thanksgiving Mass at Carmelite Monastery on August 1, setting a tone of gratitude and reflection. This was followed by a Coastal Cleanup in Talisay City on August 2, underscoring the company’s environmental advocacy. A Tree Planting activity in Don Salvador Benedicto on August 5, and Fingerlings Release in the Municipality of Murcia on August 6, were held alongside Mangrove Planting in Bago City, reinforcing Negros Power’s commitment to ecological balance.

On August 8, the company turned inward to celebrate its people with an Employee’s Appreciation Day in Magikland Silay, honoring the dedication of its workforce. From August 11–15, a Surgical Mission at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital provided vital medical services to those in need, while August 15–16 featured a friendly Basketball Tournament with Contractors to strengthen camaraderie.

Further extending its outreach, Negros Power organized a Seedlings Donation at Alangilan Farm School on August 19, a Community and Farmers Day in Silay City on August 20, and a Blood Donation Drive at Negros Power Office, The Row on August 27. The month-long celebration culminated on August 31 with Run 2025, a fun run held at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC), symbolizing the company’s continuous journey forward.

Miss Maricel Pe, Assistant Vice President for Customer Care and Marketing, expressed her pride in the company’s efforts: “This anniversary was about giving back to the community that has supported us from the beginning. Each activity is a reflection of our ongoing campaign, ‘Ikaw Ang Una,’ which places our customers and communities at the heart of everything we do.”

President and CEO Roel Z. Castro emphasized the same vision: “Our first year has been about progress, service, and building relationships. Through the ‘Ikaw Ang Una’ campaign, we reaffirm our mission—not just to deliver reliable power, but to empower the people and communities of Negros for years to come.”

As its first anniversary comes to a close, Negros Power remains steadfast in its mission to light up lives and power progress across Central Negros. But more than marking a year, this celebration set the tone for the years ahead—where every project is rooted in purpose, every milestone is shared with the community, and every light switched on is a reminder of its promise: to always put “Ikaw Ang Una.”
