A familiar face will be going up against Gilas Pilipinas when it takes on the Macau Black Bears next week.

UAAP men’s basketball champion and former University of the Philippines (UP) standout Quentin Millora-Brown will be suiting up for the Macau Black Bears, the team announced over the weekend.

The Macau Black Bears revealed on their social media they have signed the 6-foot-10 Filipino-American forward.

“With NCAA and UAAP experience under his belt — including stints at Vanderbilt, The Citadel, and a championship run with UP — Quentin brings elite rebounding, shot-blocking and interior toughness,” the post read.

Millora-Brown was pivotal in the title run of the UP Fighting Maroons, averaging 14 points, nine rebounds and 2.3 assists in the UAAP Season 87 finals series.

“He will join the team for the upcoming TAT [The Asian Tournament] Shanxi stop and the highly anticipated July 28 matchup against the Philippine National Team, anchoring the Black Bears’ frontcourt with strength and versatility,” the team said.

Millora-Brown got to work for the Black Bears against the Aces in the Asian Tournament on Tuesday night, July 22.

His team dubbed him “Paint Monster” after he tallied a double-double of 20 points and 17 rebounds in their victory.

The Filipino-American player earlier said he was open to the possibility of playing for the national team.

But while that remains up in the air, Millora-Brown will be on the opposite end of the floor.

Gilas will face the Macau Black Bears for a tune-up game, which will also serve as a send-off before the Nationals head to Saudi Arabia for the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup.

The tune-up will be on July 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. (ABS-CBN News)
