The Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts’ 3×3 boys basketball team emerged on top in the Negros Island Region qualifier of Batang Pinoy held in Negros Occidental.

Led by Paul Barcelona, Alfred Ysulan Jr., John Steven Sondia, and Thirdy Sebuan, the Thunderbolts’ 3×3 squad swept their four matches to rule the two-day competition.

Serving as coaches for the Thunderbolts 3×3 team are Atoy Callora and Denden Velez.

Brian Tan was the team manager.

Among the teams the Thunderbolts 3×3 team have defeated are Murcia, E.B. Magalona, Talisay, and University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos.

“Of course, we are happy with the opportunity to play for the NIR in Batang Pinoy,” Callora said.

“We will definitely prepare for this for us to represent our region well,” he said.

“The players are also hungry and determined since some of them are playing their final years with the school,” he added.

Up next for the Thunderbolts 3×3 team is the 2025 Batang Pinoy national finals, which will be held this October in General Santos City./ASC, WDJ
