LA Tenorio revealed that he’s thinking about the possibility of retiring after the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings’ Game 7 loss against the San Miguel Beermen, 100-93, in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Big Dome.

If Tenorio has finally called it quits, then it’ll be the conclusion of a long, storied career by the PBA’s “Iron Man.”

“We’ll see. You’ll hear it from me, definitely, in the next few weeks,” said Tenorio, who has played in 18 PBA seasons.

After a heroic and gutsy performance in Game 6, Tenorio played only more than two minutes in the decider of the semifinal series.

But his Game 6 showing was one for the books, helping the Gin Kings force a decider by draining a sensational triple that gave the team the narrow edge over the Beermen before the buzzer sounded.

“Nakakalungkot lang, if this is really my last game,” he said.

Scoring all of his 11 points in the payoff period, the legendary point guard showcased what really he is capable of, turning back time in front of thousands of spectators in Araneta.

“I think [most] memorable this season is really my last game, Game 6, kasi dun lang ako naglaro for the whole season, so it’s definitely memorable for me.”

More than the semis loss, Tenorio turned to the positives, underscoring that the young guns in this Ginebra team will gain valuable experience, especially in critical situations such as Game 7.

Tenorio also expressed pride in his pal and “chatmate” Chris Ross, who also flashed his vintage form by dropping 19 points, seven assists and four steals.

“Last game I did it, and [him] today. This just shows that vets can still win games,” said Tenorio as he gave Ross’ flowers. (ABS-CBN News)
