Negrense Angel Anne Canino retained her Best Outside Spiker award as the Alas Pilipinas national women’s volleyball team settled for a runner-up finish in the 2025 AVC Women’s Volleyball Nations Cup in Hanoi, Vietnam on Saturday night, June 14.

The De La Salle University Lady Spikers star bagged her individual award after ranking 12th in scoring with 74 points, coming from 62 attacks, seven blocks and five service aces.

She averaged 12.33 points per match.

On the other hand, Julia Morado-De Guzman was hailed as Best Setter anew after emerging as the third-best ball distributor during pool play with a total of 24 excellent sets in five games.

Aklanon Dell Palomata captured one of the two Best Middle Blocker awards with her averages of 5.83 points per game, including 1.83 blocks, in six games.

Alas Pilipinas Women settled for a runner-up finish in the competition following a 25-15, 25-17, 25-14 straight-set defeat against Vietnam, who successfully captured their third straight gold medal finish.

Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen top-scored for Vietnam with 20 points, including 16 attacks.

Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and Nguyen Thi Uyen chipped in 17 and 10 markers, respectively.

Alyssa Solomon paced Alas Pilipinas Women with eight points — all on attacks — while Nitura contributed six markers, all in the third set./ASC, WDJ
