San Carlos City in Negros Occidental has achieved full digitalization in its processes for issuing barangay and health clearances and certifications, which eliminated long queues and unnecessary paperwork for its residents.
The city government is highlighting this significant development in line with the observance of National Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Month this June.
The Information Technology and Computer Services Office (ITCSO) announced that the City Health Office has been fully integrated into the San Carlos Integrated Management System (SCIMS). This integration features a specialized primary care facility (PCF) module that enhances efficiency, transparency, and convenience for city residents.
With a centralized resident database, the PCF module simplifies the process of issuing sanitary permits, medical certificates, and other vital health-related certifications.
“This digital transformation ensures fast, secure, and accurate processing, delivering better public service and improving our community’s well-being,” the ITCSO said.
Concurrently, all 18 barangays within the city are now actively utilizing the barangay module of the SCIMS for the issuance of barangay clearances and various certifications.
“Barangay-level governance has taken a major step forward, ensuring efficient, transparent, and citizen-focused service delivery,” the ITCSO added.
Under this system, the centralized resident database allows for the generation of real-time clearances, consistent implementation of processes, and significantly reduced processing times.
The SCIMS barangay module also includes a user-friendly interface and ensures secure, easily retrievable, and backed-up data for future use and auditing purposes. (PNA)
