The Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region 6 has distributed 6,728 license plates to tricycle-for-hire operators across Western Visayas as of May 28.

The plates, released through the LTO’s district and extension offices, form part of around 19,000 plates allocated to the region covering the period 2014 to 2017.

Also available are temporary to permanent plate replacements, plate format conversions, and registered tricycle operators and drivers association (TODA) members.

As part of the Grand Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Fair, the LTO Iloilo City District Office distributed 336 new motor vehicle plates to TODA members in Pavia on May 26.

LTO-6 director lawyer Gaudioso Geduspan and assistant regional director Jeck Conlu led the release of plates held at Robinsons Place Pavia.

“By delivering plates on-site, we’re cutting delays and helping operators resume their livelihood without interruption,” Geduspan said.

The LTO launched localized plate distributions in April to address backlogs and speed up the release of license plates throughout the region.

The transportation office advised concerned vehicle owners to personally proceed to their district and extension offices to claim their license plate and bring a photocopy of their updated official receipt and Certificate of Registration, and a valid and updated driver’s license. (PNA)
