Football legend Elmer Lacknet Bedia will serve as a lead consultant for the Negros Island Region’s Buglas Filipinas girls’ under 15, who will compete in the 33rd Kanga Cup Youth International Soccer tournament from July 13 to 18 in Australia.

Bedia, a three-time Mr. Football awardee of the Philippine Sportswriters Association, accepted the role in a meeting with the team officials in Bacolod City recently.

“My job is to train the team for speed and endurance, core and upper body strength to bout with tall Australian booters,” Bedia said.

Buglas Filipinas is bracketed with Easts FC, Pagewood Botany Bandicoots FC, Rouse Hill Rams Soccer Club, and Terrigal United FC (New South Whales, Australia) in the competition.

“I am glad for Buglas for making it possible to have a delegation of Pure Negrense players to compete in Australia’s 11-A-side tournament,” Bedia said./ASC, WDJ
