The Abra Solid North Weavers walloped the Bacolod Tubo Slashers, 108-77, to gain solo second in the MPBL Season 2025 at the Orion Sports Complex in Bataan on Monday night, May 19.
Led by the tandem of Dave Ildefonso and Joshua David, the Weavers took control of the game since the opening quarter and stretched the advantage to as high as 39 points at 97-58.
Ildefonso finished with 28 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and four steals as the Weavers notched their eighth consecutive victory for a 10-1 win-loss slate for solo second place.
David tallied 20 points, laced by five triples, to go with three assists, two rebounds, and two steals.
Jack Cruz-Dumont and Ryan Batino had 11 and 10 points, respectively, for the Weavers.
“Ginagampanan lang namin ‘yung roles na in-assign sa amin ng team. Lahat naman kasi sa amin pwedeng mag-step up basta within our roles,” David said during his Player of the Game interview.
“Sinabi nga ng mga kuya namin sa team na wala kaming time para mag-relax, kasi itong game na ito ay magandang momentum para sa mga upcoming games namin,” he added.
Chester Saldua led the way with 20 points for the Tubo Slashers.
Jaycee Sam Adjei added 17 markers, while Aldave Canoy contributed 11 points as they fell to a 2-7 win-loss record./ASC, WDJ
