
The Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots relied on a strong first half to dominate the Terrafirma Dyip, 127-94, as the Hotshots went 5-0 in the PBA Philippine Cup on Sunday, May 4, at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
After leading 27-25 by the end of the first quarter, the Hotshots had a 38-point romp and limited the Dyip to just 12 points to take a 65-37 advantage after 24 minutes of action.
Minutes prior to that, Magnolia had its biggest lead, 65-32.
From then, the Hotshots never looked back as they claimed their fifth straight victory.
Zav Lucero almost registered a double-double with 17 points and nine boards, to go with an assist, while Paul Lee had 13 points. Jerick Ahanmisi and Joseph Eriobu added 11 points for the Hotshots.
Louie Sangalang, meanwhile, had 19 points and 12 boards, along with seven points, while Stanley Pringle and Kevin Ferrer had 17 points each as Terrafirma suffered its fourth straight loss after their opening day win. (GMA Integrated News)
