The Buglas Filipinas, representing the Negros Island Region (NIR), prevailed over the Dumaguete Futbolitos FC, 1-0, to rule the Born 2008 Category of the 4th University of St. La Salle Football Cup in Bacolod City.
Most Valuable Player awardee Gavriel Animathea Lomugdang converted a 30-yard free-kick from a foul inside the box to secure the hard-earned championship for the NIR representatives.
Buglas head coach Joshua “JunJun” Fegidero said the determination of his players to adapt to the values and principles of his playing philosophy resulted in this win.
“With their impressive performance and player completion, rigid training will be on hand,” said Fegidero, who is an AFC B licensed football coach.
Also part of the squad are Claudia Elise Montinola, Renee Gavriel Animathea Lomugdang, Shanel Dominique Molequin, Angel Nicole Segovia, Hushlee Lhannia de Larrazabal, and Anara Ysabel Yasay from Bacolod City.
Joining them are Jhayne Elainne Dalogdog from Negros Occidental’s Escalante City, Erika Rose Jamio, Shine Sales from Negros Oriental’s Guihulngan City, Chloe Pasana from Dumaguete City, Kelsy Skye Anub, and Emma Teves.
Other delegates are Yola Corazon Besa from Bacolod City, Nathalie Rhaine Andres, Yannah Marie Amar, Maxene Dominique Sison, Marinel Gonzales, and Vionel Lavega./ASC, WDJ
