Manhunt on vs. drug bust escapee

Authorities have launched a manhunt against a suspect who escaped following an anti-drug operation at Barangay Enclaro in Negros Occidental’s Binalbagan town on Saturday, March 8.

“Andrew,” 42 years old, managed to evade arrest and is now the subject of a police pursuit.

The operation was carried out by the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office’s Drug Enforcement Unit, with support from the Provincial Intelligence Unit and the Binalbagan police.

Authorities continue efforts to locate “Andrew.”

Police Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, Regional Director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas, emphasized the need to track down the suspect who fled.

“We will not stop until all those involved in illegal drug activities are held accountable. I urge our teams to validate reports and act swiftly to apprehend remaining suspects,” Wanky said.

Meanwhile, “Lyndon,” 35 years old, a high-value target from Barangay Enclaro, and “Marvin,” 32 years old, of Barangay Aguisan, Himamaylan City, were arrested following the bust.

Operatives seized 55 grams of suspected shabu worth P374,000 from the suspects.

They are now in police custody and will face charges under Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./ML, WDJ
