Authorities seized P1,067,600 worth of suspected shabu and arrested a high-value drug suspect in an anti-narcotics operation in Bacolod City’s Barangay Taculing on Saturday night, March 1, 2025.

The Bacolod City Police Office’s Drug Enforcement Unit conducted the buy-bust operation, leading to the arrest of 22-year-old Aldan Jeff Parandas, a resident of the area.

The suspect was caught selling a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover officer.

A further search yielded four additional sachets and two knot-tied plastic bags filled with the illegal substance, totaling 157 grams.

The suspect is now in police custody and is set to face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Police Regional Office in Western Visayas chief Brigadier General Jack Wanky commended the operatives for their continued crackdown on illegal drugs.

“This successful operation underscores our firm stance against illegal drugs. The Bacolod City Police Office remains relentless in its efforts to dismantle drug networks and put offenders behind bars,” Wanky said in a statement./ML, WDJ
