The Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO-6) seized P17.8 million worth of illegal drugs in a series of operations conducted during the first three weeks of January.
According to a report released yesterday, PRO-6 conducted 157 anti-drug operations, resulting in the confiscation of 2,630 grams of shabu and 11 grams of marijuana.
A total of 196 drug suspects were arrested during the intensified crackdown.
PRO-6 Regional Director Brigadier General Jack Wanky credited the success to the collective efforts of law enforcement and support from various stakeholders.
In a separate development, the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) reported some P9.32 million worth of illegal drugs were confiscated, and 21 drug personalities arrested as its various units intensified their operations in preparation for the Dinagyang Festival.
“A total of 1,370 grams of shabu were confiscated during 14 operations conducted from January 13 to January 20, 2025. These efforts also led to the arrest of 21 drug personalities, with seven identified as high-value individuals and 14 classified as street-level individuals,” the ICPO said in a statement.
ICPO Director Colonel Kim Legada said the accomplishments were a testament to the “dedication, vigilance, and strategic efforts of our men and women on the ground, along with the unwavering support of the community and our partner agencies.” (PNA)
