The Central Visayas police confiscated over P109 million worth of illegal drugs in various operations in cities in Cebu and Negros Oriental provinces.

On Friday morning, November 22, the Lapu-Lapu City police intelligence unit arrested a 42-year-old jobless man in a buy-bust in Zone 7 of Barangay Buaya after yielding over 15 kilos of shabu worth P102.3 million.

The police found the illegal drugs packed in transparent plastic packs disguised as tea bags inside the trolley bag of the suspect, who is a resident of Barangay Lagtang in Talisay City.

Lt. Colonel Christian Torres, spokesperson of the Lapu-Lapu City police, said the intelligence unit placed the suspect under surveillance for a month before his arrest.

The suspect reportedly distributes at least three kilos of shabu every week and his primary operation is within the tri-cities of Cebu, Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu.

On Thursday, November 21, 200 grams of illegal drugs worth P1.3 million were seized from another suspect in a sting operation in Barangay Bulacao in Cebu City.

In Mandaue City, Police Station 3 agents confiscated 200 grams of illegal drugs worth P1.5 million.

In two other sting operations in Cebu City on Thursday, law enforcement agents seized 130.25 grams of illegal substances valued at P885,700.

Meanwhile, in Valencia, Negros Oriental on Thursday, the police apprehended a suspected drug dealer with 500 grams of shabu valued at P3.4 million. (PNA)
