The Negros ICC Blue Hawks suffered another defeat in the 2024 MPVA Season as they bowed to the Caloocan AM Spikers, 25-15, 25-15, 28-26, at the Bacoor Strike Gym in Cavite.

Iari Yongco-Quimzon anchored the AM Spikers’ offense with 14 points, built on 13 attacks and a service ace, to be named Player of the Game as they improved to a 7-6 win-loss slate.

The Blue Hawks, which finished runner-up during the inaugural MPVA season, dropped further in the standings with a 4-11 win-loss card.

Meanwhile, the Biñan Tatak Gel 1-Pacman Partylist Volley Angels banked on another solid outing from Erika Jin Deloria to defeat the San Juan Lady Knights-Go for Gold, 25-23, 25-21, 25-18.

Deloria spearheaded the offense with 18 points, all coming from attacks, to be named Player of the Game as the Volley Angels stayed in third place in the standings with a 10-5 win-loss slate.

“‘Yung mga coaches ko never akong pinabayaan. Even if mag-error ako or what, gina-guide pa din nila ako, and nandyan din ‘yung support system ko, which is ‘yung teammates ko,” Deloria, a former Bacolod Tay Tung High School standout, said.

On the other hand, the Lady Knights continued their slump as they dropped to a 6-8 win-loss slate.

The Valenzuela City Classy (4-11) netted their second straight victory as they took down the Marikina Lady Shoemasters (0-15), 25-19, 26-24, 27-25.

Zonxi Dahab stepped up for the Classy with 12 points, on eight attacks, three service aces and a block, to be named Player of the Game./ASC, WDJ
