Billiard legends Efren “Bata” Reyes and Francisco “Django” Bustamante are set to headline the 3rd Mayor Albee Benitez MassKara 10-Ball Open Billiard Tournament slated at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central Activity Center from October 21 to 25.
According to a media release from the Bacolod Yuhum Foundation, Reyes and Bustamante have confirmed their participation in the men’s singles event of the four-day billiard tournament.
Reyes is considered as one of the most decorated billiard players in the country, with a US Open Pool championship, an Asian Games bronze medal and six Southeast Asian Games gold medals as among his achievements.
For his part, Bustamante also has an illustrious career with over 70 international titles, including an Asian Games gold medal in the doubles event in 2002, and a golden finish in the 2010 WPA World Nine-Ball Championship.
The 3rd Mayor Albee Benitez 10-ball Open Billiard Tournament is just one of the several sporting events that the city is hosting in line with the 45th MassKara Festival celebration later this month.
“This year is more exciting. We have more sporting events,” Jose David Diaz, head of the MassKaralympics Sports 2024, said.
“This will be an action-packed MassKaralympics this October, and we look forward to bringing more fun and excitement,” he added./ASC, WDJ
