
Ray Parks, Jr. displayed an impressive all-around outing with his new team Osaka Evessa in their win against the Shiga Lakes in the 2024-2025 Japan B.League.
The former Gilas Pilipinas star tallied 23 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and a steal in over 29 minutes of action in Osaka’s 86-79 win over Shiga at the Shiga Daihatsu Arena, only a day after he posted 14 markers, five boards, four dimes, and a block in their 88-73 win over the same team a day prior.
Osaka is now at 2-0 at the expense of Shiga, who were just recently elevated to the B1 after their B2 championship last season.
However, Parks was the lone Filipino import to tally a win on Sunday, October 6.
Kai Sotto and the Koshigaya Alphas fell short against Alvark Tokyo, 91-72, at the Yoyogi National Stadium 1st Gymnasium.
The 7-foot-3 Filipino ace posted nine points, four assists, three rebounds, and a block after seeing 28 minutes of action.
They remained winless in two games.
Also facing a double-digit loss were Dwight Ramos and the Levanga Hokkaido.
Ramos contributed 18 points, five rebounds and two blocks after playing for 22 minutes and 24 seconds, but they unfortunately fell to the Shimane Susanoo Magic, 75-63, at the Matsue City Gymnasium.
Levanga is also winless in two games.
Roosevelt Adams and the Yamagata Wyverns are also at 0-2 after they absorbed a beatdown from Veltex Shizuoka.
Adams had eight markers, seven boards and a steal in over 28 minutes of gameplay, but they unfortunately fell to Shizuoka, 80-66, at the Yamagata Prefectural Sports Park.
In another losing effort, Matthew Wright and the Kawasaki Brave Thunders fell to 1-1 after a defeat against the Akita Northern Happinets.
The former Phoenix Fuel Master had a quiet two-point, two-steal game on top of a rebound at the Kawasaki Todoroki Arena. (ABS-CBN News)
