The Bacolod City Police Office – Station 4 is currently checking footage from closed-circuit television (CCTV) following the alleged abduction of a college student in Bacolod City.

In a radio interview yesterday, Police Station 4 commander Captain Francis Depasucat said they are still investigating the incident.

The alleged victim was a 21-year-old resident of Binalbagan town, a college student at a university in Bacolod.

Police were reviewing CCTV footage, obtained near the scene of the incident, for the identification of the three unidentified individuals on board a van.

An initial police investigation showed the woman was leaving her boarding house in Bacolod on Wednesday, August 21, and was about to buy food, when the individuals suddenly forced her into the vehicle around 8:00 p.m.

The victim managed to escape when the suspects took a stopover to smoke cigarettes at Barangay Sampinit in Negros Occidental’s Bago City around 10:00 p.m., police said.

She was rescued by the residents, as her neck and hands were tied.

Police said the victim sustained bruises on her body./WDJ
