The United Negros Alliance (UNegA) said they have chosen their candidate who will run as vice governor in Negros Occidental for the upcoming 2025 midterm elections.
However, UNegA president, Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer said it is too early to disclose the candidate’s name.
Ferrer said an internal agreement had been reached for their chosen candidate.
“It is final because I made the choice unless I decide to change my plans,” Ferrer said.
The vice governor had previously expressed his intention to run for a representative seat in Negros Occidental’s 4th District in the midterm elections.
Ferrer’s decision stems from the fact that his wife, Representative Juliet Marie Ferrer, is currently serving her third and final term in office.
Meanwhile, Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson expressed his anticipation for the official unveiling of UNegA’s vice gubernatorial candidate.
Lacson, who is affiliated with Love Negros, also confirmed his bid for the final and last term as governor, as he awaits the decision from coalition partner, UNegA./JB, WDJ
