A man died after a truck collided with his motorcycle at Barangay Lemery in Negros Occidental’s Calatrava town on Saturday afternoon, March 23.

The fatality was identified as 31-year-old Raymund Cogonon, a resident of the town, while his backriders — 54-year-old Pedro Sabroso and 23-year-old Randel Bornea, both residents of the town’s Barangay Amo — were injured.

The truck driver was identified as 31-year-old Jopel Flora.

According to a police investigation, the truck accidentally collided with Cogonon’s motorcycle, while attempting to overtake another vehicle on a narrow road.

Cogonon succumbed to multiple wounds on his body.

Flora was taken into custody, and charges of reckless driving are being filed./JB, WDJ
