The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) reminded residents to be vigilant against burglars during the observance of Holy Week.
Lt. Colonel Ronnie Brillo, BCPO spokesperson, said homeowners should make sure that their houses are secured prior to attending church services or if traveling elsewhere.
Brillo said their patrol vehicles will regularly roam the city’s residential areas, together with village tanods.
However, he said it would be better for residents to properly secure their homes.
The BCPO has already completed its deployment plans for Holy Week, as their personnel will be assigned to monitor the churches, transport terminals and resorts.
The city police force is already on a “full alert” status for the observance, which is set to begin on March 24, Palm Sunday.
All BCPO personnel are required to report to their respective posts.
They are not allowed to go on leave during the period./DGB, WDJ
