Negrense volleybelles Jann Ysabelle Chua and Celine Marsh have made their college commitments to the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Golden Tigresses and the National University (NU) Lady Bulldogs, respectively.

Chua formalized her moving up to the Golden Tigresses from the UST Junior Golden Tigresses on Thursday, February 22, as announced by the UST women’s and girls’ volleyball team Facebook page.

“The Golden Tigresses scored another commitment as graduating Junior Tigress and opposite hitter Ysa Chua picks UST for college,” UST said.

“Can’t wait for you to experience a louder version of the Go USTe cheer, Ysa! Salamat for staying!” the post said.

The Bacolod City-native Chua was a former standout of St. John’s Institute-Bacolod before she transferred to the Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts, where her volleyball career has blossomed further.

After her fruitful stint with the Thunderbolts, Chua transferred to the Junior Golden Tigresses for senior high school and became part of the team’s rotation during the UAAP Season 86 high school girls volleyball tournament.

On the other hand, Marsh also committed to join the NU Lady Bulldogs for college after two years with the NU Lady Bullpups, where she had a championship run and a runner-up finish.

Marsh, formerly a member of the Trinity Christian School girls’ volleyball team, had previously been recruited by several colleges, including the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons.

Aside from Marsh, two of her Lady Bullpups teammates in Ilonggas Robielle Silla and Patriz Salazar have decided to continue donning the black and gold jersey of the Lady Bulldogs for college.

Silla and Salazar were both former standouts of the Central Philippine University Golden Lions in Iloilo City before they were recruited to join the Lady Bullpups two seasons ago.

Aside from Silla, Salazar and Marsh, five other former Lady Bullpups have committed to the Lady Bulldogs, namely Bienne Bansil, Karyll Miranda, Arianna Pua, Carlyn Tizon, and IC Cepada./ASC, WDJ
