A farmer was stabbed to death at Barangay Mahalang in Negros Occidental’s Himamaylan City early yesterday morning.
Police identified the fatality as 31-year-old Emmanuel Talaman, a resident of the village’s Sitio Velez, while the suspect was 43-year-old driver, Ronnie Pagayunan, a resident of Purok Proper.
An investigation said Talaman was walking along the road with his companion, when the suspect allegedly stabbed him in the chest with a sharp object.
The weapon allegedly used in the assault had a blade length of 13 inches.
Despite efforts to rush him to Governor Valeriano Gatuslao Memorial Hospital, Talaman was pronounced dead on arrival.
Pagayunan is in police custody as he awaits further legal proceedings./JB, WDJ
