The remains of a beheaded man were found at Barangay Poblacion 2 in Negros Occidental’s Sagay City on Sunday morning, January 28.

Authorities have identified the remains as 30-year-old Joel Malalo-an Lacao-Lacao, a resident of the village’s Purok Puntod.

Police said Lacao-Lacao’s remains were found by local residents, with his head missing.

Initial investigation and eyewitness accounts said Lacao-Lacao was last spotted alive on Saturday, January 27.

Authorities are still trying to determine the motive behind the beheading, as well as the suspect in the murder./DGB, WDJ
