The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Bacolod City served show-cause orders against 19 Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) candidates in the local polls.

Kathrina Trinio-Caña, Comelec-Bacolod elections officer, said the show-cause orders were in relation to the alleged illegal campaign materials since the start of the campaign period last October 19.

Trinio-Caña said no disqualification cases were filed against the involved candidates.

The Comelec officer also said Bacolod has no election areas of concern.

She hopes that the peaceful situation in the city will continue until the election day on Monday, October 30.

Meanwhile, Trinio-Caña appealed to the candidates to avoid influencing or bribing voters with promises or money.

On election day, she advised voters to bring their own “kodigo” of candidates to vote for.

She also appealed to the voters to come early to the precincts.

The voting time will be from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m./MS, WDJ
