The Bacolod City Local Market Committee (LMC) has identified designated areas for flower and candle vendors ahead of “Undas.”
LMC chairman, City Administrator Pacifico Maghari III said they designated Gonzaga and San Juan streets along the Bacolod City Public Plaza, Hernaez and Mabini streets along the Libertad Market, and Burgos Street along Burgos Market and Bacolod North Public Cemetery as venues for selling flowers and candles.
Maghari said around 400 vendors are now processing their special business permits to sell flowers and candles ahead of Undas.
A “no permit, no vending” policy will be implemented in the said venues.
Maghari said that his office, together with the City Legal Office’s Enforcement Team, will monitor the areas to prevent vendors who have no permits from selling their products.
A road closure is expected on Burgos Street as flower vendors will set up their businesses in the area.
Maghari said the city government will also monitor the prices of flowers and candles so that the public will not suffer from high prices.
Vending inside the public cemeteries in the city is not allowed./MS, WDJ
