The Bacolod City Legal Office (CLO) conducted a clearing operation at the Bacolod North Public Cemetery yesterday, ahead of the observance of All Saints’ Day on November 1.

“We conducted the demolition following the order of [CLO head] Romeo Carlos Ting Jr., to clear the said area from illegal structures,” City Enforcement Team head, Rey Demisana, said.

Six illegal structures inside the cemetery were demolished.

The operation aims for the total demolition of illegal structures.

“We will coordinate with the police station. We are planning to hold the operation again during the night because there are still illegal structures [inside],” Demisana said.

He confirmed that they conducted demolition at the Bacolod North Public Cemetery only.

Bacolod has other public cemeteries in barangays Handumanan, Granada and Sum-ag./MS, WDJ
