The Bacolod City government urged barangays participated in the Street Dance and Arena Competition, Electric Float Parade Competition and MassKara Elektrika Diva in the recently-concluded MassKara Festival to liquidate their expenses.
Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said participating barangays have obligations to liquidate the subsidies from the city government allocated for the festivities.
He added that the city government has the authority to reprimand or to suspend barangay officials who failed to submit liquidations.
“Bantayan man sang syudad ang ila mga financial transactions nga nahimo kag wala nasunod,” Benitez said.
The city government provided a P700,000 fund for the Street Dance and Arena Competition contestants, and a P300,000 subsidy for the Electric Float Parade Competition and MassKara Elektrika Diva participating barangays.
The barangays participated in the Street Dance and Arena Competition were Granada, Sum-ag, Tangub, 34, Vista Alegre, Mansilingan, Handumanan, Cabug, 21, and 40; while for the Electric Float Parade Competition, the barangay participants were 5, 32, 18, 14, Bata, 19, 24, Singcang-Airport, 12, 25, and 17.
Barangays Granada and 19 were declared champions for the Street Dance and the Electric Float Parade contests, respectively./MS, WDJ
