The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod has recommended assigning two streets as venues for a night market.

The city council passed a resolution last week, amending Local Market Committee Resolution 6-108, which seeks to designate Amelia and Mercedes streets in Barangay 40, as venues for the market.

The night market, with operating hours from 6:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., will accommodate displaced market vendors who failed to avail stalls at the Annex Building of the Libertad Market.

It will be implemented as soon as the guidelines have been made subject to the operation hours and the strict enforcement of guidelines.

There were more than 280 displaced vendors affected by clearing operations along Amelia and Mercedes streets.

The displaced vendors were given an opportunity to join the raffle to avail stalls at the market’s Annex Building./MS, WDJ
