A senior high school student in Negros Occidental’s Talisay City was arrested after he brought a hand grenade to school yesterday morning.
Arrested was 21-year-old Bronson Lucas Lacson, a resident of the city’s Barangay Zone 6.
Talisay City deputy police chief, Lt. Abegail Donasco said a tricycle driver complained that Lacson allegedly tried to hit him with the grenade during an argument.
Police arrested Lacson at Rafael B. Lacson Memorial High School and recovered the grenade and a sachet of suspected marijuana worth P150 from his bag.
The school faculty ordered a suspension of classes due to the incident.
A K9 unit was brought in to make sure that there were no other explosives in the school premises.
Lacson is facing charges of grave threat, illegal possession of explosives, and possession of illegal drugs.
Police have yet to determine where he got the hand grenade.
“We are conducting an investigation and securing the affidavits of witnesses,” Donasco said.
Lacson is currently detained at the Talisay City Police Station./With a report from PNA / DGB, WDJ
