A man was stabbed dead after punching a sleeping man on Wednesday night, March 1.

John Michael Bryan Cornelio, 22 years old, was stabbed at his relative’s birthday party at Barangay Mailum’s Purok Kasantulan in Negros Occidental’s Bago City.

Police arrested Domy Cahilig Pasigado, 56 years old, whom Cornelio punched.

Cornelio, under the influence of alcohol, had a heated argument with some visitors at the party that led him to punch Pasigado, who was sleeping, and some of his relatives.

Pasigado then pulled his buckle knife and stabbed Cornelio numerous times in the chest, police said.

The victim was brought to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

The six-inch knife used in the crime was recovered from the suspect./WDJ
