The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Bacolod City said they have designated 46 community-firecracker zones in the city for the New Year’s Day celebrations.

BFP-Bacolod Fire Marshal Chief Inspector Rodel Legaspi said 34 out of 61 barangays in the city have already identified their firecracker zones.

These firecracker-zones are basketball courts, gyms, parks, playgrounds, roadsides, vacant lots, and other open spaces.

The BFP-Bacolod is also on a heightened alert status against any fire incidents and they have deployed 11 fire trucks in strategic areas, Legaspi said.

He added that the city’s BFP is ready to respond to any fire or other emergency incidents which may occur during the New Year’s Day celebration./DGB, WDJ
