A local power advocate group said over the weekend that it will bring their position paper to the congressional hearing on the issues surrounding the Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco).

Wennie Sancho, secretary-general of Power Watch Negros, said they have received information about the hearing that is supposed to take place tomorrow.

Sancho said they have not received an invitation to attend the hearing, but they still want to forward their position paper on several concerns regarding Ceneco.

Among the issues currently plaguing consumers of the electric cooperative are the incessant power outages and high power rates.

Earlier, Bacolod City lone district Congressman Greg Gasataya said he was informed by Committee on Energy chairperson Lord Allan Jay Velasco that they will hold a congressional inquiry tomorrow.

Gasataya has already called on consumers and energy advocates to support the inquiry to find answers to the issues over Ceneco.

The said inquiry was pushed under House Resolution No. 475./DGB, WDJ
