Negrense volleybelles Honey Grace Cordero and Abigail Buenaviles Panique, both members of Naga College Foundation Inc. Lady Tigers volleyball team, are set to play in Manila for college.

The Silay City, Negros Occidental-native Cordero is set to join the National University Lady Bulldogs’ beach volleyball team, while the San Enrique, Negros Occidental-native Panique was recruited by Adamson University Falcons.
Cordero was playing for Silay City and Talisay City volleyball teams in local leagues in Negros Occidental before being recruited to join the Naga College Foundation last December.
In her brief stint with the Lady Tigers, Cordero helped the squad to a silver medal finish in the VolleyPrep Volleyball Club Championship indoor tournament and a gold medal win in the VolleyPrep Beach Volleyball Championship in Infanta, Quezon.
Recently, Cordero and her Negrense partner MJ Ebro were declared as co-champion in the women’s division of the Beach Volleyball Republic Negros Island Tour in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
Panique, meanwhile, was a former standout of Our Lady of Purity Academy in San Enrique before finding her way with the Lady Tigers after being recruited by Aklanon mentor Parley Tupas.
With the Naga, Camarines Sur-based team, Panique played numerous matches and seasons of BUCAL, Rebisco Volleyball League and VolleyPrep Volleyball Club Championship.

“To Cordero, Mabalos for sharing your skills to the Tigers Community, while for Abi we wish you the best on your journey to the Lady Falcons,” NCF wrote on its Facebook page. “We are proud of you.”
Cordero and Panique were just two of the members of the Lady Tigers volleyball team who were recruited to play for college in various Manila-based schools for the upcoming collegiate season.
