A total of 56 market stalls at the Negros First Food Terminal (NFFT) along North Capitol-San Juan Street in Bacolod City will finally be opened on August 15.
The opening schedule was made following the signing of contracts between the renters and the provincial government last August 3.
The NFFT, a project made by the late former governor Alfredo Marañon Jr., was pegged at P114.6 million and has two levels.
The ground floor area will host kitchens, vending stalls, rentable storage areas, and kiosks. The second floor, meanwhile, has several conference and function rooms.
The NFFT was also known previously as the “pala-pala” food terminal and is the drop-off point for fresh seafood caught in the waters surrounding Negros.
The area was also previously a popular tourist destination due to the number of seafood restaurants or “tulahan” that were operating in the area.
Seafood restaurants may again be able to operate in the area starting next month./DGB, WDJ
